CLAIBORN WILL STATE OF GEORGIA, PUTNAM COUNTY I, Robert E. Claiborn of said state and County being of sound mind and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament. Item 1st. I direct that after my decease my body be buried in a decent manner, agreeable to my situation in life. Item 2nd. I will and direct that all of my just debts be paid out of my property. Item 3rd. I will and direct that my three youngest children to wit, Daniel Franklin, Sarah Blumer, and Susan Thomas each as they become of age to receive one hundred and twenty-five dollars in money provided my Executor hereinafter named has it in hand at the time, if not so, soon thereafter as he may be able to raise it. Item 4th. I will and direct that Lucinda Lively a freed woman for her kindness in waiting on me during my protracted illness receive twenty- five acres more or less of land situated and lying in Putnam County and State of Georgia. This land is lying on the west side of the old raod leading from William T. Young's plantation to the old Eatonton road adjoining land of John W. Hudson, W. M. Tripp, W.T. Young, and Robert E. Claiborn to hold said land during her life time at her death to be held by her daughter Georgia Ann Lively and at her death if she should die without heir to rent back to my estate. Item 5th. I will and direct that my wife Emily Ann Claiborn have all my stock of cows, horses, mules, hogs, sheep and goats all the household and kitchen furniture and plantation lying in said County and State during her natural life the income from which to be for the support and maintenance of her and her three youngest children. At her death I will and direct that all of my property excepting that specially willed be equally divided between all my children share and share alike. Item 6th. I will and direct that my houses and lots in the town of Eatonton be rented out and the proceeds be applied to the payment of my debts. If however it becomes necessary to sell either of them, I wish the house and lot at the Eatonton depot to be the one sold. Item 7th. I will and appoint W.C. Davis and my son Daniel F. Claiborn my lawful Executors. Signed, Sealed and acknowledged in the presence of R.E. Claiborne L.S. July 16th, 1868 W.B. Jones Clerk S.C. CODICIL TO THE FOREGOING WILL Item 1st. I will and direct that in case either of my minor children mentioned in the 3rd Item of my will shall die before receiving their special legacy that it shall go to the survivor or survivors. Item 2nd. I will and direct that neither of my sons in law to wit. Robert Parham, James Yancey and William Branam shall live in the house with my wife Emily Ann Claiborn.
