William LANIER - born in Duplin County, N.C. Jan. 10, 1799 d May, 1879 Marble marker, child 6 graves marked with large stones The GLESSON family are believed to be buried in the unmarked graves and are thought to be the first settlers to live on this land. This cemetery is located in the woods about ten miles east of Georgetown on Highway 82. Take the dirt road at the William Wimms' home and follow it into the woods for about a forth of a mile.
