Church, located at Hatcher, Georgia, the St. John A.M.E. Church, located at Morris, Georgia, and the Proctor A.M.E. Church, located at Springvale, Georgia, seeing a decline in membership and no future for their churches sought to strengthen themselves by merging into one congregation. This plan was rejected by the A.M.E. and this, along with other discontentment with the A.M.E. Administration brought about the decision of withdrawal and the formation of a Union Church. Trinity Chapel was selected as the name of this new church that met for several months in the old Springvale school house with different ministries holding services. In November of 1977, the Reverend E. M. Holley of Dawson, Georgia, was called as the first pastor. He worked very hard getting the new church organized and incorporated, a requirement of the state for a non- denominational church. It was incorporated under the name of Trinity Chapel Mission Interdenominational Church. The land for the church was purchased from Mr. Homer Bussey and Mr. Jessie Henderson contracted in the fall of 1978 to build the new church. It was completed in May of 1979. Plans were made to move in and after the purchase of church pews, a dedication was held on the third Sunday in June of 1979 by the Reverend William H. Borders of Atlanta, Georgia. Mayor Andrew Young of Atlanta attended. The Reverend Bobby Willis was called as pastor in April of 1981 and in July of that year he assumed the position as the second pastor of the church. In 1985 the church celebrated their sixth anniversary with the Reverend Willis as pastor, Deacon Willie H. Bussey as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Deacons Harvey Wilborn as treasurer and Sister Earline Eleby as church secretary.
