The Charter date was October 26, 1847. Meetings were held the 3rd Saturday in each month and the 1st Saturday night. The officers and members in 1847 were: Delavore Morris, W.M.; John T. Scroggins, S. W.; John R. M. Neal, James H. Martin, Secretary; Joseph Gilford, Treasury; W. E. Atkinson, S.D.; L. C. A. Warren, J.D.; John Gilbert, Tyler; L. A. Box, E.A.; G. B. Lewis, F.C.; N. I. Jones, E.A., Wm. Tennille, J. M. Green and Henry Benton. Five were initiated, two passed. Dues paid $5.00. In 1859 the regular meetings were held on the third Saturday of each month. Seven were initiated, seven passed and seven were raised, and four resigned. $47.27 was paid in dues. The officers and members were: D. Morris, P.M.W.M.; Stephen Lee, S.W.; J. E. J. Smith, J.W.; T.
