                   GRAND LODGE OF GEORGIA

                   Georgetown Lodge No. 63

     The Georgetown Lodge No. 63 was organized in 1847.  The Charter date was 
October 26, 1847.  Meetings were held the 3rd Saturday in each month and the 
1st Saturday night.  The officers and members in 1847 were: Delavore Morris, 
W.M.; John T. Scroggins, S. W.; John R. M. Neal, James H. Martin, Secretary; 
Joseph Gilford, Treasury; W. E. Atkinson, S.D.; L. C. A. Warren, J.D.; John 
Gilbert, Tyler; L. A. Box, E.A.; G. B. Lewis, F.C.; N. I. Jones, E.A., Wm. 
Tennille, J. M. Green and Henry Benton.  Five were initiated, two passed.  Dues 
paid $5.00.

     In 1859 the regular meetings were held on the third Saturday of each 
month.  Seven were initiated, seven passed and seven were raised, and four 
resigned.  $47.27 was paid in dues.  The officers and members were: D. Morris,

     In 1863 one was initiated, one resigned and four died.  $100.02 was paid 
in dues (three years) and seven were in the C. S. Army.  They were: E. B. 
Brannon, W. J. Brown, Carlisle Terry, T. J. Methvin, W. T. Methvin, W. E. 
Carter, and D. W. Holliday.

     The officers were: Wm. A. Tennille, W.M.; J. E. Smith, S.W.; D. Methvin, 
J.W.; John M. Green, Treasurer, R. R. Smith, Secretary; Delaware Morris,

     The Georgetown Lodge No. 63 closed in 1879.  There were several years that 
the lodge did not send in a return to the Grand Lodge of Georgia.
