RABUN COUNTY, GA - BIBLES - Family Bible of Samuel Beck

Notes: This Bible is in the possession of Mr. Thad Bynum of
Clayton, Georgia. He rescued it from the old Bynum House
before it was torn down. The Bible is dated 1817 and was
printed by Mathew Carey, No. 121, Chesnut-Street. The family
records are on separate pages which were sewn or tacked into
the book. The whole thing is extremely fragile; the leather
cover is mostly gone, as is everything after Psalm LXXVIII.
Additionally, in the family records, some portions are
repeated two or more times. Here, I have sorted everything
out as best I could so that each individual is named only
once per event. This transcription is, therefore, not going
to be in the order given in the family Bible. Photocopies
are impossible to make due to the condition of the book. It
is also impossible to tell when or by whom these records
were written down.

Tabitha Beck was borne in the yeare of our Lord June the 13 Day 1796

Mary theare Deaughter was born in the yeare of our Lord October the
25 1813

Joanna theare Deaughter was borne in the yeare of our Lord September
the 15 D 1816

John theare Son was borne in the yeare of our Lord December the 23
Day 1819

Berry Benson therae Son was bornd in the yeare of our Lord August
the 26 1822

Samuel Meren theare Sone was born in the year of our Lord October
the 29 day 1826

Ary theare Dartor was bornd in the yeare of our Lord Juley 29 the
1829

Jasper Nuten theare Son was borne in the yeare of our Lord the May
the 10 1832

Martin Vanburn theare Son was borne in the yeare of our Lord
[illegible] Octobr [11th or 16th] 1834

Martha Jane though Daughter was borned in the year of our lord
February 25 1838
