Start on the Georgia side of the Burrell's Ford Bridge and go back towards Hwy 28 to the first dirt road to the right and go across John's Mill Creek going left again to a road that goes 90 degrees to your right and continuing toward to top of the ridge you can find the Ridley Cemetery which has some 22 field stone markers. James Monroe Ridley Born 1853 (Pickens District S.C.) Died Jan 1918 (Rabun Co GA) (son of James Napoleon Ridley and Catherine Queen) husband of Berthania "Sis" Cordelia Helena Barnes James Monroe Ridley's wife is buried at Macadonia in Rabun Co., GA. James's wife was Bethania Cordelia Helena Barnes Ridley 1857-1959. Twin Winchester babies buried here. James Monroe Ridley's sister, Sarah Ann Ridley, married Pinkney Andrew Padn Winchester, so we assume these twins were their children. Her husband is buried at the Winchester Cemetery on the SC side of the river about three miles away at Burrells Ford. Would appreciate any info on any other people buried in this Ridley Cemetery.
