Ritchie as Principal and W. R. L. Ritchie, T. J. Ritchie, J. I. Langston, Joseph L. Watts, Samuel M. Beck, A. L. Dillard, R. B. Ritchie and James M. Ritchie as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency W. Y. Atkinson, Governor of the State of Georgia, and his successors in office, in the Just sum of Five ($5000.) Thousand Dollars, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs executors and administrators, each and every one of them, Jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 15th day of November, Eighteen Hundred and Ninety Eight. The condition of the above obligation is such, that, whereas, the above bound James R. Ritchie has been elected Sheriff in and for said County: Now, should he, the said Jame R. Ritchie faithfully perform all and singular his duties as Sheriff of said County during the term for which he has been elected, by himself, his Deputies or Jailers, and upon the terms required by law, then the above bond to be void: else to be of full force and effect.
