Beck was tried in Rabun Superior Court last week for the murder of his wife and found guilty with a recommendation to the court for mercy. The jury was muddled over his sanity and compromised on a verdict which puts him in the penitentiary for life. If his lawyers push the motion for a new trial the state's counsel will make an effort to try him for the murder of his wife's sister-Miss Addie Bailey. Additional Comments: His wife was Ella Bailey Beck.
