A panther attacked Mr. and Mrs. George Greenleaf, in Rabun county recently, as 
they were returning home from Clayton.  The husband was knocked down by the 
spring of the panther, but before the beast could do him much hurt, the brave 
wife plunged a knife into its throat, killing it in a few minutes. The panther 
had committed depredations for some time, and had been much hunted by men in the 
neighborhood.
