RABUN CO., GA - NEWSPAPERS - James Eller and Sam Whitmire on trial

From "The Gainesville Eagle", Friday, June 28, 1878, No. 25:

Dear Eagle: James Eller, and Sam. Whitmire, two white men,
were on trial before Esq. J. M. Ritchie today for burning a
grist mill belonging to Mr. J. B. Dillard on the night of the
13th of last month. There is the strongest circumstatial
evidence against them, and in default of $600 bail, each,
they were committed to jail until court. Eller thinks he will
succeed in giving bond.
