THOMAS NICHOLS Mr. Thomas Nichols, aged 83 years, an old Confederate Veteran, passed away at his home in Persimmon community on Wednesday morning and his remains will be laid to rest at the Persimmon Cemetery, today. Mr. Nichols was stricken with paralysis a few days ago and remained unconcious until the end came. He is survived by one son, Mr. Esco Nichols, of Cowan, Tennessee and one daughter, Mrs. P. E. Thompson, Sr. of Clayton and one brother, Emanuel Nichols, of Persimmon. The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Boiling Springs. Mr. Nichols was born in North Carolina and came to this county when eight years of age and has lived here ever since.
