Smith, wife of J. Arther Smith, died at their home at the Burton dam last Saturday night, Dec. 28, and was buried Monday at Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was a daughter of Mr. Jack York, of Clayton. Her mother preceded her to the grave some five or six years ago. Mrs. Smith had influenza and pneumonia set up and she lived only a few hours. She was an industrious and hard working woman. She leaves a husband and nine children, an infant baby only a few months old, a father and a sister, Mrs. D. B. Clark and a host of friends and relatives.
