P. MITCHELL A. P. Mitchell came into the Bethel Association locating at Fort Gaines in 1850, and began his service as pastor of country churches mostly, but came to be one of the outstanding ministers of the Association. Just shortly before his death in 1862 he moved without the bounds of the Association, but was still a member of that body. Regret by the Association was expressed on his death in its session held at Pine Bluff Church, 1862. During his ten or twelve years service of the churches of the Bethel Association his work was appreciated by that body, and those with whom he came in contact. His life was dedicated in prayer while the regular order of business was continued. Father Mallory, the eldest minister of the Association leading the prayer. 1850 Randolph Co. GA page 379 4- A. P.
