Mr. William Bell
              Died Wednesday
     Mr. William Bell, age 83, died early Wednesday morning at the home of his 
son, Mr. J. A. Bell, of near Shellman.  The deceased lived in and near Edison 
practically al lhis life until this year, moving with his son to Randolph 
county.
     Mr. Bell was a confederate soldier, a good man, and his death is regretted 
by all.  Funeral services in charge of Rev. Grimes, of Shellman, were conducted 
at Mars Hill cemetery Thursday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd.  He 
is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. A. Page and Mrs. R. E. Jernigan, and four 
sons, Messrs. Ira and J. A. Bell, of Randolph county; W.  H Bell of Carnegie, 
and C O Bell of  Jacksonville. [FL?]
