Mr. Brady left home on the 10th for Troup county and after riding about 20 miles up the river, towards Columbus, he stoped to let his horse drink at a creek called Hitcheta, and while there he received a rifle ball of a large size, which entered back of the left shoulder, passed under the collar bone cutting the wind pipe, and came out the right side of his neck. On receiving the ball, he fell forward, but the horse raising his head at the moment, caught him on his neck and prevented his falling off. He held on to his horse and rode about 3 miles, to the nearest house, where he lingered till about one o’clock on the 12th, when he expired. Mr. Brady is the third who has been killed at and near the same spot. It is supposed that he was shot by an Indian, but his fact is not yet proven, as Mr. Brady did not see the person who fired.—Telegraph.
