TAYLOR Jefferson W. Taylor was born in S.C. I have not located his direct line yet. I found him in Richmond Co. Ga. in the 1860 census. His occupation was a printer. After his service in the war, he lived in Savanna, Ga. and worked for the Savanna Morning news as a printer and forman. His daughter Lizza(Taylor) married Oric B. Murray in Savanna in 1871. His father O.J. Murray was from Ohio Co. W.V. and was Seamboat Capt. in Richmond and Savanna just before the civil war. They moved to Fernandina, Fla. with roots still in Savanna and moved back and forths several times. O.B. Murray join 11th Fla. Inf.Reg.Co.B. His company was assigned to Savanna for detached duty, then to S.C. from mid 1863 to 1864. He was captured 4/6/65 and released 6/24/65 from New Port News. Oric and Lizzie lived on in Savanna and at some point he was in the militia in Savanna. I have a picture of him in uniform taken by W.H. Hoffman in Savannah, Ga. They moved back to Fernandina and their daughter Annie married my G grand father Daniel W. McClellan.
