McCAIN researchers have Alecy McCAIN's parents listed as Wm. & Elizabeth McCAIN. The four (4) acres sold to Elizabeth McKEAN was also mentioned in two other Richmond Co., GA deeds where Moses MORGAN had bought 100 acres. The deeds dated Oct. 25, 1823, recorded Sept. 1832 with reference to a plat from 1820 and also a deed from 1831. The 1831 deed states "....four acres of the above named tract of land which had by the said Moses MORGAN been deeded off to Elizabeth McCAIN" Note: in the 1831 deed the name is spelled McCAIN. Other names mentioned in this deed were Mary Dailey; William Skinner & John Skinner, executors for the estate of Maj. Wm. Skinner and Seaborn Skinner Wit: A. Smith, Arthur Foster, JP, John Lamkin and John Wilcox, JP. A drawing of the plat of Moses MORGAN'S 100 acres shows Joseph Dailey, Major Skinner lands adjoining the 100 acres sold to Moses MORGAN. The drawing states "the above plat...29 Feb 1820 signed Arthur Foster, D.S.?" John Skinner & William Skinner stated Moses MORGAN had paid the $225 fully. The deed mentions "on the head waters of Ross or Russ? Creek." Thanks to my cousin Jan for sending me these deeds.
