To all to whom these presents shall come. Charles OUVEY of Fleet Street in the City of London, Paper Stainer, surviving partner of Chamberlain BIRCH, late of Augusta, Richmond County in the State of Georgia in America, deceased sends greeting. Whereas the said Chamberlain BIRCH and Charles OUVEY have for some considerable time past carried on trade in partnership together under the firm and style of BIRCH & OUVEY by reason whereof divers persons residing in America have become indebted to the estate of the said Chamberlain BIRCH and Charles OUVEY in several sums of money which are now outstanding and unpaid. And whereas the said Chamberlain BIRCH departed this life on or about the fifteenth day of August last at New York in America. Now know ye and these presents witness that the said Charles OUVEY as such surviving partner as aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath made ordained, nominated, authorized, constituted and appointed and by these presents doth make, ordain, nominate, authorise, constitute and appoint and his place and stead depute and put William TILER of Fleet Street aforesaid in the City of London his partner in trade(he being about to depart from hence to go to New York aforesaid) his true and lawful attorney in the name of him the said Charles OUVEY as such surviving partner as aforesaid or in the name and firm of the said late copartnership (to wit) Chamberlain BIRCH and Charles OUVEY or in his own name as may be necessary by and according to the laws and customs of America, but nevertheless for the proper use and benefit the said Charles OUVEY as such surviving partner as aforesaid to ask demand and receive of and from all and every person or persons whomsoever liable to the ? payment or delivery thereof. Additional Comments: This Power of Attorney provides additional information about who Chamerlain BIRCH & Charles OUVEY were and their residence(s) -- Charles OUVEY's name in some of the recorded deeds looks like it may have been spelled OUVRY.
