Whereas Chamberlain BIRCH and Charles OUVEY did lately in the federal circuit court of the district of Georgia obtain a judgment against George HUNT and James STALLINGS for the sum of ten thousand two hundred and seventy two dollars, and also twenty nine dollars and fifty cents for costs as will appear by record of the said court. And whereas a Writ of Vendition? Eaponas? hath issued on the said judgment, directed to the marshal of the district aforesaid commanding him that he should cause to be made of the goods and chattles, lands and tenements of the said George HUNT and James STALLINGS the aforesaid sum of money. And whereas the said John GREEN, deputy marshal of said district by virtue and in execution of said Wirt of Vendition Exponas directed and delivered unto him did seize in execution and take into his custody and posession a certain lot or parcel of land containing half an acre situate lying and being in the City of Augutsa, in the state aforesaid, buting and bouding soutwardly by Green Street, eastwardly by lot number (57) fifty seven, northerly by part of lot number (56) fifty six and westerly by Elbert Street and is the southermost mo?ty of Lot no. (56) fifty six belonging to George HUNT, dec'd, one of the said defendants, and after due and legal notice given did set up and ?pose to sale the said lot or parcel of land at public auction and the said William MORGAN being the highest and best bidder, the same was knocked off to him at and for the price and consideration herein after mentioned. Now this indenture witnesseth that the said John GREEN as deputy marshal by virtue and in consequence of the said Writ of Vendition Exponas and of the power and authority to him given, for and in consideration fo the sum of one hundred and ten dollars to him the said John GREEN in hand will and truly paid by the said William MORGAN at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said John GREEN as deputy marshal aforesaid hath granted, bargained and sold, conveyed and confirmed and by these presnets doth bargain and sell unto the aid William MORGAN his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns all the aforesaid lot or parcel of land, being the souther mo?ty of said lot number (56) fifty six, in the City of Augusta as aforesaid, together with all and singular the houses and improvements, rights, profits, priviledges and app?ntenances whatsoever unto the said lot of parcel of land belonging and the reservations, remainders and profits thereof and all the estate, right and interest, property, claim and demands whatsoever both at law and in equity of the said George HUNT, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns and every of them. To have and to hold the said lot or parcel of land and all and singular other the premises above mentioned unto the said William MORGAN, his heirs and executors, administrators and assigns to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said William MORGAN his heirs, executors, adminstrators and assigns forever.
