Georgia

This indenture, made the third day of July, in the year of our Lord, one 
thousand seven hundrd and ninety-nine between William MORGAN of Edgefield 
County in the state of South Carolina, planter of the one part and William 
TILER of the City of Augusta in the state of Georgia, gentleman, of the other 
part, witnesseth that the said William MORGAN for and in consideration of the 
sum of one dollar lawful money of the United States to him in hand well and 
truly paid by the said William TILER at or before the sealing and delivery of 
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, 
sold, relinquished and ? ? ? ? William TILER (agent and attorney for Charles 
OUVEY, the surviving copartner of Chamberlain BIRCH) and to his heirs and 
assigns ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? being in the City of Augusta aforesaid containing in 
front on Broad Street fifty four feet and in depth two hundred and seven feet 
bounded southerly by Broad Street, easterly by part of lot no. 21(twenty-one) 
in possession of Harris MAHER & CO., northerly by another part of lot no. 21, 
belonging to Reuben COLEMAN, deceased, and westerly by another part of said 
lot no. 21 formerly the property of Charles HILL, and also all that other lot 
or parcel of land containing half an acre situated in the City of Augusta, 
aforesaid, butting and bounding southerly by Green Street, easterly by lot no. 
57, northerly by pat of lot no. 56 and westerly by Elbert Street and is the 
southernmost mo??ty of said lot number fifty-six, which said two lots of land 
were heretofore seized and taken under execution as the property of George 
HUNT to satisfy an execution  BUSH & OUVEY against HUNT & STALLINGS, out of 
the federal court and sold & conveyed to said William MORGAN who lent his name 
to hold said property for BIRCH & OUVEY, who being aliens could not receive 
title to real estate.  Together with all and singular the rights, numbers, 
improvements and app?stenances thereof whatsoever unto the said lots of land, 
respectively belonging or in any wise appertaining.  To have and to hold the 
said lots or parcels of land and premises aforesaid and every part thereof 
unto the said William [the word Morgan is written and then lined through) 
TILER, his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said William MORGAN for himself 
and his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said William TILER his 
heirs and assigns that he the said William TILER his heirs and assigns shall 
and may from henceforth & forever hereafter ? & ? enter into possess and enjoy 
the said several and respective lots or parcels of land and premises aforesaid 
free from any claim or claims, disturbances or interruption of from or by the 
said William MORGAN or his heirs or those claiming or to claim by, ? ? / him 
or them and doth hereby for himself and his heirs warrant and defend the same 
against him the said William MORGAN and his heirs and all and every person and 
persons claiming or to claim by from or under him, them or any of them.  In 
witness whereof the said William MORGAN hath hereunto set his hand and seal 
the day and year first afore written.
