Company K, 10th Regiment
Richmond County
"Davis Musketeers"

This company was known originally as Company I, of the 3rd
Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry (Colonel Wright), and
became Company K, 10th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry
when the first Company K, of said regiment, commanded by
Captain John P. W. Reed, was transferred to Artillery by
Special Order from A. & I. General's Office, March 27, 1862.

Adams, Thomas -- Elected 2nd Lieutenant of 1st Company H,
9th Regiment Virginia Infantry June 11, 1861. Commission
expired May 8, 1862. Elected 1st Lieutenant of Company K,
10th Regiment Georgia Infantry in 1862. Commanded company
September 1, 1862 - March 1, 1864. Wounded at
Chancellorsville, Virginia May 3, 1863. Dropped as
supernumerary officer May 9, 1864. Elected 2nd Lieutenant of
Company H, 59th Regiment Virginia Infantry in 1864. On duty
with Brigadier Johnson's Division, Anderson's Corps, Army of
Northern Virginia December 5, 1864. No later record.

Arnold, S. F. -- Private - June 27, 1862. Wounded at
Sharpsburg, Maryland September 17, 1862. Absent without
leave in Georgia, May 2, 1863 - February 28, 1865. No later
record.

Bales, J. (or Bailey) -- Private - June 14, 1861. Captured
at Chancellorsville, Virginia May 3, 1863. Died in 1863.
Buried in Mount Jackson, Virginia Cemetery.

Infantry March 1, 1862. Transferred to Company K. Wounded at

allegiance to U. S. Government and furnished transportation
to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania April 17, 1865.

Sergeant March 1862. Appears last on roll for April 30,
1862.

D'Antignac, Auvergne -- Enlisted as a private in Company G,
20th Battalion Georgia Cavalry May 22, 1862. Elected 2nd
Lieutenant of Company K, 10th Regiment Georgia Infantry
August 22, 1862. Wounded in 1864. Elected Captain November
12, 1864. On wounded furlough at Augusta, Georgia January-
March 1865. Applied for retirement. Paroled at Augusta,
Georgia May 20, 1865.

D'Antignac, W. M. -- 2nd Lieutenant -June 14, 1861. Elected
1st Lieutenant June 11, 1862. Wounded and disabled at
Sharpsburg, Maryland September 17, 1862. On detached duty at
Augusta, Georgia September-October 1864. Retired,
disability, December 1864.

Davidson, Porter S. -- Private - June 14, 1861. Absent
without leave May 1864 - March 1865. No later record.

Aiken's Landing, Virginia October 17, 1862. Discharged,
disability, at Richmond, Virginia November 2, 1862.

Dodd, William --Private. "An unknown man died at Burton's
Hospital, supposed to have been William Dodd of this
company." Buried in Confederate Cemetery at Lynchburg,
Virginia No. 5, 2nd Line, Lot 144.

Elders, William -- Private - June 14, 1861. Appears last on
roll for April 30, 1862.

Favors, John Reuben -- Private - June 21, 1862. Pension
records show he was wounded in left shoulder, affecting
lungs, at Chancellorsville, Virginia May 3, 1863. Wounded in
leg at Berryville, Virginia September 3, 1864, and was
unable to return to command. Union records show he
surrendered to enemy at Winchester, Virginia September 7,
1864. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Government at
Washington, D. C. and released September 15, 1864. (Born
November 24, 1837.)
