His little son, age 10, while playing policeman and soldiers with two colored boys, killed one instantly and wounded the other. They were playing prisoners, and he was the policeman. They made a break for liberty and he ran into the house and seized a gun, which he did not know was loaded, aimed it at them and pulled the trigger. The shot entered the face and head of one of the boys, killing him instantly. The little fellow ran in to his father and asked him to kill him, as he had killed a boy, but did not intend to do it.
