The installing officer was Mrs Jennie Stitts of St Louis, Missouri, national president of the Auxiliary. Mrs Stitts was a guest throughout the convention and gave several inspiring brief talks and instructions. Augustans serving with Mrs Spears this year as state officers include Mrs Catherine Williams as junior vice president, Mrs Carrie Hinton as secretary, Mrs Virgina Carswell as chief-of-staff, and Mrs May Lites Cole as musician. Other state officers include Mrs Lee Harris of Fitzgerald as senior vice president, Miss Eunice Peay of Savannah as Chaplain. Mrs Philip Turnipseed of Albany as treasurer, Mrs RS Fitch of Fitzgerald, as patriotice insturctor, Mrs Ruby Olson of Atlanta as historian, and Mrs Mildred Rhodes of Athens as parliamentarian. Mrs Spears succeeded Mrs Ruth Gossett of Atlanta, Mrs Bertha Gossett of Atlanta. Mrs Bertah Gossett of Atlanta was convention chairman of a highly successful and pleasant convention of the Auxiliary and annual encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans, meeting at the same time, Andrew R Paul of Savannah succeeded Philip A Meyer as department commander and was installed by Past National Commander-in-Chief Archie J House of Lansing, Michigan. Annie Wheeler Auxiliary of Augusta won a beautiful silk flag for its activities during the past year. Members attending the convention included those mentioned above; Miss Lucile Beatse, Auxiliary president' Messrs Voncille Royal and Montie Hanson vice presiden'ts Messrs Laura Strauch and Marguerite Creasy, past state presdients; Mrs Florrie Hardeman, who was state conductor; Mrs Hattie Grimes and Mrs Janette Garrison, Auxiliary delegates.
