                         William E. Carroll
 William Edwin Carroll of 444 Parkdale Drive, a retired cable splicer for 
Southern Bell, died Saturday in a local hospital.
 The funeral will be at 1pm Tuesday in Westview Cemetery, Augusta, Ga. Burial 
will be directed by Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.
 Mr. Carroll was born April 27, 1909 in Augusta, a son of William C. Carroll 
and Bertha Epps Carroll. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
 Surviving are two daughters; Catherine C. Rogers of Charleston and Nell Fogle 
of Augusta; a sister, Mrs. S. L. Shelton of Augusta; four grandschildren; and 
seven great-grandchildren.
