The Augusta Chronicle
Mr. James H. Goodwin, 81, of Berkley Road, died Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at 
his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, 
with Dr. Timothy Owings and the Rev. Jacob O. Malone officiating. Burial will 
be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Goodwin, a native of Augusta, had retired as a clerk from the U.S. Postal 
Service. An Army Air Corps Veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign 
Wars Post 3200, American Legion Post 205, John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge 677 
and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Taylor Goodwin; a son Jerry Hudson Goodwin, 
Warrenville, SC.; two daughters, Cheryl G. Myers, Augusta, and Jean G. 
Phillips, Cedar Lake, Ind.; a sister, Elease G. Baber, Augusta; and seven 
grandchildren and seven grat-grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be Art Baber, Patrick Baber, David Poss II and Daniel Poss.
