January 25 (Special) The funeral of Dr. Eugene Foster today was one of the largest attended that ever occurred in Augusta. St. James Methodist church was packed and there were as many people standing in the vestibule and on the street outside, as were in the church. The mayor and city officials, the medical fraternity, the Masons, the medical students, and the Richmond academy cadets were present in bodies. Besides the local Methodist preachers, there were present Dr. R. J. Bigham, Rev. J. H. Mashburn and Rev. L. G. Johnson, former pastors of St. James church, who were intimately associated wtih Dr. Foster. Each took part in the service and paid tribute to his worth. The floral tributes were very handsome and profuse. Perhaps a thousand people went to the cemetery and witnessed the burial service there.
