Mrs Jasper Jones' Funeral Services To Be Held Today
Funeral services for Mrs Alena Laverne Jones, 48, who died Monday at the 
residence of a daughter, Mrs JL Dorn, on the Washington road, will be held this 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Elliotts Funeral Home.  The Rev EC Sheridan will 
officiate and interment will follow in West View cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Delma Reese, Paul Brentel, Quinnie Harmon, Earl Neal, 
Harvey Lee Hoffman, and Melton Tabb.
A native of Saluda, SC, Mrs Jones had lived in Augusta the last 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jasper E Jones; eight sons, Arthur C, Grady, 
Fred, Woodrow, Harold, Rudolph, Edward and Jasper E Jones, Jr; three daughters, 
Mrs Ruth Williamson, Mrs JL Dorn and Mrs GF Bevels, all of Augusta; two 
brothers, Will Turner of Saluda, SC, and Robert Turner of Johnston, SC; three 
sisters, Mrs George Bledsoe of Saluda, Mrs TW Watts of Vaucluse, SC, and Mrs 
Laura Anderson of Greenwood, SC; and four grandchildren.
