Leitner Beloved Augusta Woman will Be Buried this Afternoon at Three O'Clock Feb 2, 1936 [November 21, 1884 February 1, 1936] Final rites for Mrs. Florence Carmichael Leitner, wife of Howard M. Leitner who died at her residence 1227 Meigs Street, yesterday morning at 9 o'clock after an extended illness, will be held at the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. Robert Excell Fry will officiate and interment will be in Cottage cemetery. Pall bearers will be Alex Kelly, George Schley, W.B. Toole, Dixon Richards, E.J. Hannahan and J.O. Welch. The death of Mrs. Leitner casts a pall of sorrow over this city for during the many years which she had lived here, her chram and personality, combined with a generous nature and cultured manner, gained her the love and admiration of everyone with whom she came in contact. She was the daughter of Paul E. Carmichael and Mrs. Sarah Stiles Carmichael, pioneer family of Augusta. She was a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church, the church in which her family had been prominent since its organization. Besides her husband, survivors are one son, Howard M. Leitner, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Eve Carmichael, and several nieces and nephews.
