(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net August 25, 2012, 7:39 pm The Augusta Chronicle 2-3-1922 Page 5 Mrs. Emma Oliver Succumbs To Illness Funeral This Morning at the Residence, 909 Greene St. The funeral of Mrs. Emma Oliver, who died at the residence 909 Greene Street, yesterday morning at 7:00 o'clock, after an illness of two days, will be conducted at the residence this morning at 10:00 o'clock. Rev. C. C. Jarrell, pastor of the St. Johns Methodist Church, will officiate and the interment will occur in the Magnolia Cemetery, Waynesboro, Ga. Mrs. Oliver is survived by one son, Dr. V. B. Oliver, of Savannah, and one daughter, Miss Anna Oliver of Augusta. The following gentlemen have been requested to act as pall bearers, Fred Geer, C. E. C. Fisher, Gordan Humphrey, R. E. Barton, C. K. Harrell, and Louis Clark. R. E. Elliott and Sons are in charge of the funeral. Additional Comments: Emma was the second wife of Dr. Samuel J. Oliver who is also buried in Magnolia Cemetery. Emma's death certificate #4848-D. The Anna Oliver listed above is actually an adopted daughter whose parents were Noah Daniel Tyson and Mourning V. Moody Tyson. Anna was adopted in 1902 after the death of her mother in Emanuel County, Georgia.
