James L Whitman
James L Whitman, 90, of 1339 Jackson Road, died Monday in an Augusta hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church wit 
the  Rev Olin Sizemore officiating.  Burial will be in West View Cemetery.
He was a native of Anderson county, SC, and had lived in Augusta since 1933.  
He was a veteran of the Spanish American War and a member of Oak Grove Baptist 
Church.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia Beasley Whitman.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Lucille Malone Whitman; two daughters, Mrs 
Norma D Blotner, New York, NY, Mrs Forrest J Storey, Augusta; two brothers, CW 
Whtiman, Augusta and Milton Whitman, Abbeville, Ga; four sisters, Mrs Nannie 
Smith, Mrs Cora Fletcher, and Mrs Letch White, all of Ware Shoals, SC, and Mrs 
Eather Walker, Greenwood, SC; three grandhcildren; and several nieces and 
nephews.
Friends may call at Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
