Thomas B. Roberson
Dies at Residence
on Savannah Road

Saturday Feb 4, 1939

Thomas Burton Roberson, 84 year old retired farmer and merchant, died at his 
home, eight miles out on the Old Savannah road, yesterday afternoon at 5 
o'clock after a long illness.

Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Gracewood 
M.E. Church. The Rev. Rogers will officiate and interment will be in the 
Brandon Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Jesse Johnson, R.W. Jeffcoat, T.A. Holmes, Clifford 
Johnson, L.D. Toole, and A.O. Richardson.

Mr. Roberson, a native of Burke County had been a resident of Richmond county 
for the past 64 years.

He is survived by four sons, C.T. Roberson, R.L. Roberson, Luther Roberson, and 
Thomas Roberson all of Richmond county; two daughters Miss Cassie Roberson and 
Miss Nannie Roberson of Richmond county; three grandchildren, O.C. Roberson, 
and Mrs. A.E. Jennings of Augusta; Mrs. Harry Coleman, Washington; three great 
grandchildren; two brothers, F.A. Roberson, North Augusta; and Clem Roberson, 
Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
