Shafer Mrs. Aline Carroll Shafer, 78, of 3122 Edinburgh Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 25 1992 (her death certificate shows Jan. 27, 1992), at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2pm, Wednesday in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Shafer was a native of Empire. Soon after graduating from Tubman High School, she moved to Washington, where she opened the Princess Beauty Salon. A former resident of Uvalda, Texas, she was employed by Southern Finance Co. for 30 years. One of the first female realtors in Augusta, she received many awards from the Augusta Real Estate Board. She was a member of The Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Lucy Shafer Reese Mastej, Dallas and a grandson, James Robert "Bobby" Reese III. Atlanta. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Poteet Funeral Home, Greene Street, is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Aline was born 1 Feb 1913 to John Henry Carroll and Sophie Phillips Carroll who are buried in the Bowers Cemetery in Empire, Dodge County, Georgia.
