Information from Augusta Chronicle, Augusta, Georgia and Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Bluefield, West Virginia Preston Glen Shannon , 19, of 3190 Skinner Mill Road, Augusta, died Saturday, December 10,1977 as result of automobile accident.He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia October 18,1958. He made his home in Augusta. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church where he had been baptized by the Rev. Ken Hutchinson. He was employed by the Georgia Power Company's Plant Vogel. He is survived by his parents, Eva Fay Shannon of Augusta, Ga., Preston Duval Garrett of Lynchburg, Va. Maternal Grandmother, Bertie Yost of Bluefield, W.Va. and very special Aunt, Shelby Jean S. Blevins of Princeton, W.Va. Much loved by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at Elloitt Sons Funeral Home on Telfair Street, Augusta, Ga. Monday December 12,1977 at 3:PM with Rev. Ken Hutchinson officiating. The remains will be conveyed to Craven- Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, W.Va. where funeral services will again be conducted with the Rev.Douglas Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be Uncles, Robert Shannon of North Augusta, S.C., David Shannon of Princeton, W.Va., Ray Shannon of Lynchburg,Va., and very special Cousins, Bobby Blevins, Jackson Blevins, Douglas Williams,Jr. all of Princeton, W.Va. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell, W.Va. where his Mother will someday rest beside him. (Single auto accident and Auto recalled 3 months after accident.) Two hearts together... can double every joy... lighten ever care... and discover all the sweetest things in life...we did. The wonderful times are all memories now, but forever in my heart they will stay, because you were the light of my day. So, I turn to God for strength and hope and with each day he'll help me cope.
