Georgia, Richmond County.  Know all Men by these presents, that we, Thomas 
Rowe and John Smare are held and firmly bound unto the court of ordinary of 
Richmond County, in the sum of eight hundred fifty seven dollars and fourteen 
cents, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our 
heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these 
presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 25th day of October 1823.  The 
condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas there is a marriage 
intended to be solemnized between the above named Thomas Rowe and Mary Smare.  
Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same, then this obligation to 
be void, else to remain in full force an virtue.  Signed, Sealed and 
acknowledgec, in the presence of Isaac Hubert, Clerk of the court of ordinary.
