Noath, Ordinary Given under my hand as Ordianry of the aforesaid, this the 5th day of December, 1864. I hereby certify that W. C. Ross and Sarah L. Oden were joined together in the Holy Bans of Matrimony, by me, on the 8th day of Dec, 1864. A. J. Huntington Pastor of Greene Street Baptist Church Augusta, Georgia Additional Comments: Sarah Lavinia ODEN was born abt 1848 in Georgia, probably in Augusta. William Calvin ROSS was born abt 1843 in Marengo County, Alabama. While in the Confederate Army he was wounded. This disqualified him for further action, so he was detailed by order of General Robert E. Lee, 18 Jul 1863, as a watchman at the Confederate Powder Works in Augusta, GA. It was evidently during his detail at Augusta that he met and married Sarah Oden File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/richmond/vitals/marriages/oden564gmr.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
