There is not a definite date, however the deed of Pleasant Hill Church of 874 , the shcool house predated the church. The school building had two floors, the 1st floor served as the school and the second floor was used for the "Farmer's Union, and the Sheffield Lodge of the Odd Fellows. The school was moved about 1910/1915 to the area between Smith James Rd. and Norris Lake Drive. on Pleasant Hill Rd., what was then the Lithonia Loganville Rd.. Pleasant Hill School was not in control of the church, many of the members attended the school as a child. The old school building and property was later deeded to Pleasant Hill Church and the land was plotted out into Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1952. The first school building eventually burned. The school at one time had an enrollment of seventy-three with an averatge attendance of forty. It is thought the school was closed when the county schools were consolidated.
