CAPEHART has returned form a protracted visit to her daughter in South Georgia. ~ Oak Grove Alliance had a very interesting meeting at their hall on Saturday evening the 20th ult, and I am happy to say that they were not captured by Larry GANTS circular issued in behalf of Steve RYANS, the notorious swindler and gambler, of Atlanta. Oak Grove looks upon his circular as an insult to the alliance and courts of Georgia. They have too much confidence in the officers of our courts to believe that they would sentence a man to prison without a good and sufficient cause. Larry knows better too, if he don’t he had better go and consult some crossroad lawyer. Larry is like a great many other “would be big men” he don’t think the poor clod head farmer has much sense, and he hasn’t a great deal, but he is learning mighty fast. Oh! Larry you are mighty sharp, but Oak grove is too sharp for you, tell the Oak Grove boys next time how much “sugar” you are going to get, and maybe they will go “snooks” with you. If it had been one of our poor horse copperas breeches farmers or mechanics in Steve RYANS place, Larry would never have taken such an interest in his behalf. If Larry will read our declaration of purpose, 4th article, he will find that it is not the object of the alliance to defeat justice but to aid in maintaining law and order. No alliance should sign his petition, but do as Oak Grove did, pass a resolution to send it back where it came from with the seal of their condemnation written upon it, that is what Oak Grove did. I say hurrah for every member of Oak Grove, from her grand old President down to the humblest number on the roll. ~COME TO ATTENTION! We have opened a first class blacksmith and repair shop in rear of the Hotel and near the Livery Stables, and are prepared to do your work in first class order, at reasonable prices.
