OBITUARY
     Sister M. F. BUTLER, wife of Bro. B. P. BUTLER, died at their residence on 
April 4th, 1892, aged about 50 years. She was a consistent member of the 
Rockdale Baptist Church. She and her husband uniting with the Church about 20 
years ago; both were baptized on the same day by Rev. C. C. WHITE. She was a 
devoted Christian, she loved her Church and pastor, she was an humble 
Christian, and loved by all that knew her. She leaves a husband and daughter, 
and many relatives to mourn for her. She was perfectly resigned to God’s will, 
during her long illness she was not heard to murmur or complain at her 
condition. May the husband and relatives prepare to meet her in the bright 
world where they will be united forever; where there is no death, no sorrow and 
no more parting; there to enjoy the peaceful rest provided for all those that 
love and put their trust in our blessed Savior. The funeral services were 
conducted by Rev. H. F. BUCHANAN, at the residence of the deceased, to a large 
audience of relatives and friends. She was then laid to rest in the MCCLUNG 
graveyard, near Rockdale Church.
     May the choicest blessing of our heavenly father rest upon all the 
bereaved family and relatives.

Additional Information:

Bulford P. Butler married Mary Frances Bagby on July 25, 1867 in Newton County.
The record showes they were married by David T. White, JP, record number 102783.
Mary Frances had a daughter, Margaret Y., born about 1856, who came along with 
the marriage.  Margaret is with Bulford and Mary Frances in the 1870 & 1880 
Census records.
