Miss Julia Cook, after an illness of some weeks, aged about 22 years. It was sad news indeed and quite unexpected to most of us when the word was sent out that they were expecting her to die. It was known to a good many that she was quite sick, but no one seems to have thought her situation was so serious and hence the sadness and surprise of the intelligence. Only a little while ago; how short the time seems; Julia ws one of the sprightly young ladies of our community and is now a lifeless corpse and was laid to rest beside others who have preceeded her to the spirit land, but such is life and we mortals must not complain, all works out best in the end. To the bereaved mother and father, sister and brothers and other relatives we can tender the sincere sympathy of our entire community. She was a kind affectionate girl and none knew her but to love, none named her but to praise, weep not for your loss is his gain. Services were held at the house conducted by Rev. Mr. Dillard after which a considerable portion joined in the procession and carried her to Union cemetery where so many of the loved ones of this community have been laid to rest from time to time and there we left the mortal remains of sweet Julia, to the gentle sleep of death, her pure spirit has gone to the God who gave it. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church. Short was little Julia's stay, She came but as a guest. She tasted life and died away, To her eternal rest. A True Friend. Panola Ga.
