F. Jones, Deceased On Saturday, at 9 o'clock, p. m. Feb. 7, Mrs. Emily Frances Jones departed this life at her home near Cora. In this, one of the sweetest and most lovable Christian lives has passed from among us. No sublimer faith was ever exemplified than was seen in her life. Hardly has suffering for years ever been endured with a more Christ like patience. Few lives have ever been more fullfilled of loving deeds in the homes; few have ever illustrated better scripture "To live is Christ, to die is gain." She accepted this in faith, and lived and died according to what she firmly believed. Her presence in a home or heart meant pleasant sunshine there. Pride and enmity, she did know. Humility love and faith were her favorite virtues. A pain never struck the heart of a friend or foe but it reached hers too, so sympathetic was she. She has laid aside the _____ of honor here to receive a diadem of glory there. She was strong, except in body, hence she was better for heaven than for earth. As no person on earth despised, but rather sought her companionship, so many angel delight in her presence there. While earth weeps, Heaven rejoices: while she parts with loved ones here, she meets with a greater number there. Truly she has "fought the fight," she has "kept the faith," she was ready to receive the crown. No greater praise need be given than she loved and was loved by God and man. She was 78 years old, and had been a loyal member of the Baptist church at Zion since she was only a child. Mrs. Jones was the wife of the late Wm. G. Jones of this county, so well known by all its older citizens. She survived her husband fourteen years. She leaves four sons, Messrs. G. M. Jones, of Hickory Flat; R. T. Jones, of Canton; T. W. Jones, of Gainesville; J. W. Jones, of Conyers, and two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Estes and Mrs. W. D. Elliott both of Newton County. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the cemetery of Conyers, on Monday following at 3:30 p. m., witnessed by all her children and many relatives and friends. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church at that place, and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Aguila Pyle.
