IN MEMORIAM

  The Sabbath school of the First Baptist church of Conyers having heard with 
profound sorrow of the sad death of one of our former pupils and classmates, 
Miss Kate Lathem, who was a member of our school fifteen months, but who had 
returned to her home in Buchanan, Georgia, about two months before she was 
taken sick and died on the 20th of August, 1891 after and illness of fifteen 
days. Miss Kate was in her fifteenth year. She was an amiable girl, of sweet 
disposition, modest and retired, although she had never made a public
profession of Christ we feel that she was ready for the summons. We, the 
members of this Sabbath school greatly sympathize with the parents and grand-
parents and all the relatives in their sad bereavement, and pray that our 
Heavenly Father will give them grace sufficient to bear this great trial. Now, 
to quote the words of our Saviour, "Be ye also ready for in such an hour as ye 
think not the Son of Man cometh." May we all be ready when our Saviour shall 
call us.
