L. Peek. Last Saturday evening at 3 o'clock, Mrs. W. L. Peek breathed her last, passing peacefully away surrounded by her family, relatives and friends. She had been a great sufferer for four months and all that medical skill and tender and careful nursing could do had been done to restore her, but without avail. She gradually grew worse until the end came and gave her spirit freedom and her body rest. The funeral services occurred at the Presbyterian church and an exemplary christian lady. In her life she exemplified the true christian spirit and her death was a triumphant one. During her entire sickness she was always ready to die, expressing perfect confidence in the future. Her only desire to stay here was to be with her loved ones. It was this that gave her such fortitude and patience in bearing up under the pain and suffering which she endured for four long months. It was her love for others that made her so often wish and hope to be restored to health. It was her love and tender consideration for others the made her such a noble woman. All who knew her were her friends and should everyone to whom she did some kindness place a flower upon her grave she would rest be- neath a wilderness of flowers. She never thought of herself or her own comfort, but it was always that of others, displaying that generous, self-sacrificing and unselfish character which she possessed. In her death the family sustains an irrepairable loss, the church loses one of its truest members and the county one of its noblest women. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in their sad bereavement. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.2 Kb
