W. W. Swann, died at Birmingham, Ala., Wednesday night at 6 o'clock as a result of an operation for appendicitis. The young man was just in the bloom of life, being only 21 years of age. He had resided in Atlanta for about a year, and had been in Alabama only a few weeks. Esq. Swann received a telegram Monday from his nephew, Mr. Fletcher Swann, of Bessema, Ala., telling him of the condition of Carl, and he immediately left for the bedside of his son. The operation proved unsuccessful and Carl died as above stated. The remains will be brought down this morning and carried to Smyrna where Rev. J. W. Stokes will conduct the funeral service. The remains will be laid to rest in the Smyrna Graveyard. To the lamented parents and relatives the BANNER extends sincere sympathy.
