Resolutions of the Conyers M. E. Sunday School And His Schoolmates. Sad, indeed was the death of Master Alex S. Tilley, which occured about 9:30 o'clock on last Thursday morning. He had been seriously ill for several days and all that loving hands and medical skill could do was to no avail and despite every effort that was made his soul was claimed by the one who gave to inhabit brighter realms in glory. He was about fourteen years of age and posessed a loving, social disposition that made him friends by the score, and his death is mourned not only by his parents, brothers and sister, but by a great number of friends. The funeral occurred in the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Dr. J. W. Quillian, Dr. H. Quigg and Rev. B. D. Ragsdale, after which the remains were laid in Rockdale cemetery. Our sympathy goes out to the bereaved family. Below we publish some resolutions drawn by a committee appointed by Alex's schoolmates. In Memory of Alex S. Tilley. Whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to take from us our much beloved and highly esteemed friend and schoolmate, Alex S. Tilley. Be it resolved: 1st. That we feel that the loss is his eternal gain, that in his death we have lost a bright and much beloved schoolmate. 2nd. That when we look over our school room and see a vacant seat that he filled so regular, we feel very sad. 3rd. That he always had a smile and kind word for each one. 4th. That we tender the bereaved family in their sore trouble our heart-felt sympathy and that they be furnished with a copy of these resolutions and that they be published in the Banner.
