Schley County Georgia Bible Womack Family File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by LDSED@aol.com Linda Snow Davis Table of Contents page: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/schley.htm Georgia Table of Contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm This in not actually a Family Bible, but a Prayer Book with entries. 1st page typed: Family of William and Elizabeth Womack from 1780 2nd page typed: The following family records were photocopied from an unidentified Prayer Book* which is in the possession of Dr. Jack N. Averitt, 112 Chelsea Circle, Statesboro, Georgia. The records were made available fro copying on December 3, 1984. Regarding the first entry, Toby (?) Inman daughter of Shadrack and Elizabeth, - Index to Georgia Land Grants, (Office of Surveyor-General_Georgia) list under Grantee,- Inman, Shadrack (Heirs of) 575 acres in 1785. This date indicates a possibility that William Womack married the widow of Shadrack Inman. It is suggested that the reader examine the photocopies for possible errors of interpretation. J. Curtis Lane, D.D. S. Statesboro, Georgia I have a copy of the deed mentioned above and I have a little information on Shadrack Inman. He was born in N.Carolina and died in the Battle of King's Mountain in the Revolutionary War, I have a book on the story how he was mention in this battle. It is also mention in some papers I have that Shadrack Inman traveled with Daniel Boone in N.Carolina before coming to Georgia. Another bit of interesting information of the Womack line, the famous LeeAnn Womack is in the family tree and also the actor James Gardner and Roy Rogers all of which can be found on the website Womack Genealogy Network Home Page (http://www.womacknet.com/) PRAYER BOOK 1st page Toby (?)
