After Preaching by Brother Hawkings and J.M. Murray the church of Christ at 
Phillippi met in conference  first  opned the doore of the church  second  
called for refrence  third  Called for acknowledgement  fourth  called 
Misellanous business at the suggestion of Eld. R.H. Jennings the church of 
Christ at Phillippi Schley Co Ga while in conference on Saturday May 3 1902 
hear by extend an arme at Spring Hill School House near Sumner in worth county 
Ga and Delagats to Bro Peter Steward (all Stewards shud be Stewart) Bro Henry 
Steward Bro C.A. Thompson Bro James Thompson Bro J.T. Holt Bro Robert Pickard 
Sister Minnie Steward Sister Mary Steward Sister Pearl Steward Sister Mollie 
Thompson Sister Georgia McGill the members Belonging at Phillippi church near 
Spring Hill Academy the Privlige to hold conference Receive members as if at 
Phillippi church

THE CHURCH OF EPHESUS

A Progressive Primitive Baptist Church

The Church of Ephesus is a Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, built about 
four miles north of Sumner in November, 1902, with eight members 
constituting it. It is in what is known as the Stewart settlement.

The following ministers have served this church:  Elders J.T. Gardner, Isaac 
P. Porter, T.J. Head, R.H. Jennings and G.D. Todd.

The deacons have been as follows:  C.A. Thompson, Peter Stewart, Kenneth 
Stewart, Murray Gardner, H. Bartly Stewart and Kenneth R. Stewart.

The present membership numbers seventy-three.

The Church was built by John Farmer and Ward.

Does anyone know if the Church of Ephesus is still an active church in Worth 
County?
