Allen and daughter of Joseph & Mariah Cook, was born in Baldwin Co., Ga., Oct. 15, 1818, married in her 18th year, joined the Ebenezer Baptist church soon thereafter, was a bright and shining light for her Master for 64 years. Was instigate in season and out, doing what she could for the advancement of Christ kingdom upon the earth and giving of her means for the support of the ministry & church, thus setting an example for the younger sisters. Sister Allen was left a widow with four little children early in life to combat the world with its responsibilities. She met then with Christ-like endurance ever relying upon His promises to be a husband to the wife and father to the orphan. She raised her children to be God loving, God fearing chgristians. They are all members of the church. Sister Allen’s long Christian life leads us to think that she fought the good fight of faith, and has gone home to be with Christ, where there will be no more parting, no more sorrowing, no tears nor death.
