I thought it interesting and it would explain a number of things in the minutes. It's sort of a rules for order. Decorum of the Church at Phillippi Article 1st The Preacher when present shall sit as moderator and if absent it will be the duty of the church to choose her a moderator. Article 2nd The moderator Shall invite visiting Brethren and Sisters of Sister Churches (if in good standing at home) to take seats with (us) and aid in our deliberations. Article 3rd It Shall be the duty of the moderator to call for the fellowship of the church. Article 4th Reference to be takened up and attended to. Article 5th The door of the church to be opened for the reception of members into our body by the moderator in any way authorised by the Gospel. Article 6th New matter(s) to be enquired for by the moderator. Article 7th Every motion made in order and Seconded Shall come under the consideration of the church except (when) withdrawn by the member making it. Article 8th Any member making a motion or speaking on a matter in debate shall rise from his seat and address the moderator by the appellation of Brother Moderator and shall not be interrupted while speaking unless he depart from the subject and then it shall be the duty of the moderator to call him to order Article 9th No member shall be guilty of whispering shifting seats or withdrawing himself while the conference is in business without leave of the moderator Article 10th No member shall speak more than three times to the same subject without leave of the conference. Article 11th Any male member failing to fill his seat at regular conference shall at the next conference render his reasons; for a repetition be subject to reproof; and the third time to be cited by the church to show cause why he persists in such a course of neglect. Article 12th In all cases put to vote the approbation or disappprobation of the conference Shall be made known by rising and sitting and a majority shall rule in all cases except in those touching fellowship.
