It is far less than I would like and I must warn that due to poor handwritting, smudged ink an the fallibility of the transcriber, there are bound to be errors. That said, I hope this will be of some use to you. Harris Hill. Source material: microfilmed copies of the original found in the Ellaville library. Georgia, Marion County February 28th 1835 We the scattered Brethern & Sisters of the Baptist Arder in the third District of Marion County Georgia having previously Covented together to become Constituted into a Church met together at the place appointed on the Day above written & Joseph J. Battle & Andrew Hood, Minister of the Gospel being sent for & being present formed a presbytery & after a due examination We being found orthodox the Presbytery pronounced us a church of the Lord Jesus Christ & gave us the Right hand of fellowship & we gave the Right hand of fellowship to one another upon the principals of faith hereunto annexed & hereunto we have subscribed our names signed by the Presbytery. (Transcriber's note: This opening passage is followed by the "Principles of Faith" mentioned above and it is followed by the signatures below. While there was no key to the codes that follow the names, I feel fairly certain that Dec. was for deceased, Dis was for dismissed, and I do not have any idea as to what the Cx might have indicated.) It is followed by one 1st Sept. 1844. The wording on that 1844 list leads one to conclude that the list immediately following this note was earlier than 1844. Items in [brackets] are my notes.
