Edge shows that he is a citizen of said county & is the head of a f............-self, his wife (Sarah) Catherine Edge 47 years old 1st day of Sept 1886 & five children to wit: Mattie (A) Edge 18 years old 10th March 1886, Emma (E) Edge 17 years old 15th November 1886, Annie (E) Edge 14 years old 12th March 1886, Katie (F) Edge 10 years old 7th Sept 1886, William Edge 4 years 20th Feb 1886. And that he desires under constitution of Ga. Article 9th & secs 1 & 2 under said article & the statute in reference thereto, to have laid off & set apart as a homestead for the use of said family on or out of three hundred & nine acres of land the property of petitioner two hundred acres of said land set apart in (Schley?) county, and 107 acres in Macon Co., said state all in one body of land and bounded on the north by lands of Jessee Coogle & Joseph Williams, on the south by lands of Noah Taylor & J. Ellis, on the east by lands of J. Cloud, on the west by lands of Hearold Johnson & Co. containing 309 acres more or less, so much of said 309 acres as will not exceed in value twelve hundred & twenty five dollars with all fixtures and appurtenances included. Petitioner also desires to have exempted & set apart the personal property embraced in schedule A hereto attached to which reference is made as a part of this his petition, said schedule contains a minute & accurate description of all the personal property belonging to your petitioner. Schedule B hereto attached contains a correct list of the names and post offices of the creditors of petitioner. Petitioner prays that an order may issue to the county surveyor of said county, if none, to some other surveyor requiring him to lay off & make a plat of the home stead ..........out of said 309 acres of land & make return thereof in accordance with law.
